Wardrobe Supervisor

Grandstreet Theatre is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Wardrobe Supervisor to support our costume operations. This role is ideal for someone who has a passion for costumes, an appreciation for history, and a talent for creating order out of complexity. The Wardrobe Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining and activating our extensive costume inventory while supporting the needs of each production.

Job Type: Part Time

Location: Helena, Montana

Salary: $19-$21 (D.O.E.)

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive and accessible costume inventory system

2. Organize and manage Grandstreet’s large costume storage to ensure efficiency and usability

3. Oversee the care, maintenance, and preservation of costume pieces

4. Assist visiting costume designers in locating, pulling, and returning costume items

5. Provide support with costume fittings and adjustments as needed

6. Conduct regular inspections of costumes before, during, and after productions

7. Manage costume laundry and upkeep throughout each production run

8. Track repairs and ensure all costume pieces are performance-ready

9. Collaborate with production teams to ensure wardrobe needs are met in a timely and professional manner

Qualifications

1. Strong organizational skills with the ability to create and communicate effective systems

2. Basic sewing skills, including alterations, repairs, and fitting adjustments

3. Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced production environment

4. Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving

5. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively

6. Interest in costume history, design, and theatrical production is highly desirable

Schedule & Work Environment

1. Minimum of 20 hours per week; schedule is flexible but will include some evenings and weekends during productions

2. Work takes place in costume shops, dressing rooms, and other theatre storage locations

3. Willingness to work hands-on with a diverse range of textiles and materials, including in active costume storage spaces that may be dusty at times

Bartenders

We accept applications for Bartenders on a rolling basis. Bartenders manage the concession stand and bar for Grandstreet Theatre performances, providing smooth and speedy service to patrons. This is a shift-based position scheduled based on availability. Applicants should be available for at least two shifts per production for the current season.
