Box Office Manager

Grandstreet Theatre is seeking a part-time Box Office Manager to join our team and help deliver a welcoming, efficient ticketing experience for our patrons. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, deadline-driven professional who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about excellent patron service. The Box Office Manager plays a key role in supporting the theatre’s front-facing operations, ensuring accuracy, responsiveness, and a positive experience for every guest.

Position Overview
The Box Office Manager oversees ticketing operations, supports key administrative functions, and helps advance patron engagement and sales initiatives. This role works closely with the Managing Director and Front of House team to ensure a smooth and positive experience for every guest.


Key Responsibilities

1. Box Office Oversight

  • Oversee all show ticket sales, assisting over-the-phone, walk-in, and online customers, including season pass sales

  • Respond promptly to box office voicemails and emails

  • Implement and manage ticketing benefits (e.g., Season Pass benefits)

  • Sell theatre merchandise and maintain accurate merchandise inventory

  • Train and support box office staff

  • Produce usher lists for each production

  • Maintain advanced working knowledge of ticketing software (ArtsPeople) and basic knowledge of theatre school software (StudioPro)

  • Maintain accurate records of ticket sales and seat availability

  • Develop and implement ticket-sales initiatives and timelines (cold calling, group sales, etc.)

2. Administrative Support

  • Maintain and generate mailing lists for patrons, donors, actors, and other stakeholders

  • Maintain the volunteer hours database

  • Maintain the automated voice messaging system

  • Maintain concession inventory prior to each production opening and update stock based on Front of House reports

  • Maintain the box office cash drawer and assist the Financial Manager with concessions drawer prep and related software

  • Complete additional administrative tasks as assigned

3. Professional and Team Development

  • Support the coordinated and efficient implementation of the theatre’s goals, philosophy, and mission

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of theatre policies and procedures

  • Provide timely and clear communication with project teams, departments, and leadership

  • Build positive working relationships with theatre staff and board members

  • Communicate proactively with the Managing Director when additional training or support is needed

Ideal Qualifications

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • High level of organization and attention to detail

  • Experience with ticketing or CRM systems (ArtsPeople experience preferred)

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Comfort working both independently and collaboratively

  • Passion for the performing arts and community engagement

Schedule & Compensation

  • Part-time position up to 32 Hours but required presence during box office hours of Monday-Friday 11:30-5.

  • Compensation: $19-$21 per hour based on experience.

Bartenders

We accept applications for Bartenders on a rolling basis. Bartenders manage the concession stand and bar for Grandstreet Theatre performances, providing smooth and speedy service to patrons. This is a shift-based position scheduled based on availability. Applicants should be available for at least two shifts per production for the current season.
