Sarah Butts
Sarah Butts (Director) is a theatre artist and social worker, currently based in Missoula. She’s thrilled to return to one of her favorite artistic homes to direct Mary Poppins! Some of her previous Grandstreet directing credits include Constellations, Newsies, Buyer & Cellar, Pink Unicorn, Shrek, and Avenue Q. Other select directing credits include Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Doubt, RENT, Les Misérables, These Shining Lives, and Every Brilliant Thing. Other companies she has worked with include Seattle Repertory Theatre, Mill Mountain Theatre, Village Theatre, South Coast Repertory, Utah Shakespeare Festival, UC Irvine, and Long Beach Playhouse. In addition to her artistic pursuits, Sarah brings her passion for care and community to her role as a therapist at Meadowlark Counseling and Neurofeedback and also works with MIC, a nonprofit focused on housing and employment support. She holds an MFA in Directing from the University of California, Irvine, and an MSW from the University of Montana. Sarah is also an associate member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC).

Michael Brian (Choreographer) is thrilled to return to Grandstreet, having previously choreographed Newsies last summer. As a performer, regional credits include: La Mirada, 3-D Theatricals, Musical Theatre West. Creative work on screen include: The Emmys, Bob’s Burgers, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Jeff Downing (Set and Costume Designer, he/him) is originally from Chillicothe, Ohio and received a BFA from the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music. After ten years of directing, designing and teaching in New York City, he moved to Helena in 2012 to become Grandstreet’s Artistic Director. Jeff has directed and designed many shows at GST, most recently Lucky Stiff, tick, tick … BOOM!, Bright Star, The Mousetrap, Matilda, and his new adaptation of A Christmas Carol. He is also the playwright of A Real Boy, a queer adaptation of Pinocchio, which premiered at Grandstreet in January of 2022 and was just produced at the Evolution Theatre Company in Columbus, Ohio. Some of his favorite roles on the Grandstreet stage include Marvin in Falsettos, Tateh in Ragtime, and the Baker in Into the Woods.

Cadence Mayrand (Production Stage Manager) is very excited to join Grandstreet Theatre for the first time. She’s pursuing a Stage Management B.F.A. at Webster University with a Spanish minor. Some of her most recent projects include: Our Dear Dead Drug Lord (PSM) & Ride the Cyclone (1st ASM). Mary “Propins” Gegenhuber (Props Designer) is originally from Milwaukee WI. Mary moved to Montana in 1976. Mary performed in her first play, The Mouse that Roared at age 12 but was bitten by the production bug and was a stage manager at age 16. Mary started as a props designer for Grandstreet in 2006 on Ah, Wilderness! Mary worked on Mary Poppins in 2014 when it was performed at Grandstreet and is excited to do it again. She performed at Grandstreet in Annie Get your Gun, Titanic and stage managed for Steel Magnolias. She has also worked with the Last Chance New Playwrights Fest, the Helena Avenue Theatre, Ravens Feather Productions, and the Helena Symphony. Mary dedicates every show to her mother Dolores who introduced her to the arts.

Paige O’Neill (Technical Director, She/Her) grew up first in the Pacific Northwest, then England, and now calls Helena home. Paige has a BFA in Technical Theatre from the University of Montana and gained professional experience with Missoula Children’s Theatre, Montana Repertory Theatre, and Fort Peck Summer Theatre before joining the Grandstreet Team in 2018. Paige has loved building sets at GST. Some of her favorites include Treasure Island, Falsettos, Puffs, and Bright Star. Paige is active with the United States Institute for Theatre Technology, Inc., and serves as the Inclusion, Disability, and Equity representative. She would like to thank her chosen family for all their love and support.

Kate Loble (ASM and Live Sound Mixer) is back for the summer before her 3rd year at Cornish College of the Arts. She is grateful to be welcomed with open arms by the theater that gave her training, life skills, and community that she owes her livelihood to. Her most recent productions include sound mixing for Alice by Heart at Cornish College of the Arts, and her last Grandstreet production was Godspell. She wants to thank her dad for supporting her.

Christopher Kehoe (George Banks) is an actor, director, and stage manager originally from Minneapolis, MN, and making his Grandstreet debut with Mary Poppins. He has trained in clown, mask, devised performance, and movement-based theatre with Philippe Gaulier, Giovanni Fusetti, Ronlin Foreman, Joan Schirle, Jon Ferguson, Sandbox Theatre, Odin Teatret, and The SITI Company. He has an MFA in Ensemble-Based Physical Theatre from Dell’Arte International, and is an MFA Directing Candidate at University of Montana in Missoula.

Binky received her BFA from the UM/ Missoula and toured with Montana Repertory Theatre four years including the 1988 production of COWBOY. She settled in Helena in 1989, raised her children, Jordyn and Liam, and found her home away from home, Grandstreet Theatre. Among her roles at Grandstreet are Ursula (The Little Mermaid), Mama Rose (Gypsy), Velma Kelley (Chicago), Fraulein Schneider (Cabaret), and directed Bat Boy and I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change! Binky teaches at Grandstreet Theatre School.

Faith Johnson (Mrs. Corry, Sweep, Others) is delighted to return to Grandstreet Theatre after four long years away. She first appeared in Mary Poppins in 2014 as Annie, one of Mrs. Corry’s daughters—making this a full-circle moment. Notable roles include Ariel in The Little Mermaid, Allison Vernon-Williams in Cry-Baby, and Pennywise in Urinetown. A former Miss Montana, Faith begins law school at the University of Montana this fall. Grandstreet has shaped her from the start, and always will.

A well-traveled young man, Kanen’s journey has whisked him from South Korea to CA, VA, and now, quite happily, Helena. He began his GST adventure as a camper in 3rd grade and was most recently seen in Lucky Stiff. His distinguished roles include Laurie (Little Women) and the Modern Major General (Pirates of Penzance JR). She has been in Beauty and the Beast Jr., Shrek Jr., Rudolph Jr., Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Little Mermaid, and Alice in Wonderland Jr. Her most memorable role was the blowfish in Little Mermaid. Lillian Beutelschies (Park Ensemble, Starlighter, Others) is a rising freshman at Helena High and is thrilled to be part of her first conservatory and 7th show at Grandstreet Theatre. Gracie Fay Petersen (Banker, Toy, Others) is going into 11th grade and in her 12th year at Grandstreet Theatre School. Some of her favorite roles on the Grandstreet stage include: Wicked witch understudy in The Wizard of Oz, Brigitta in The Sound of Music, Ensemble in Newsies, and James in Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach. She would like to thank her family for always supporting her. Gracie looks forward to this super fun show!

Robby Felber (Mr. Punch, Banker, Others) is a tenth grader at Capital High and is very excited to be in his second conservatory show and to work with people from his Newsies family and new people to make an even bigger family with this cast. Grey Haladay (Park Ensemble, Customer, Others) is excited to be part of the cast of Mary Poppins! He’s a rising 8th grader at Helena Middle School. Recent stage credits include The Little Mermaid, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Finding Nemo, and Alice in Wonderland, among others. Grey loves singing, cello, and running track. He sends a big thank-you to his family for always supporting him and is incredibly grateful to GrandStreet Theatre School for its amazing community!
