Wanna get involved in Grandstreet Theatre, but being on stage just isn’t your thing? Or maybe you’ve volunteered and performed with Grandstreet before, but you want to stretch your theatrical muscles and try working in a different role? Grandstreet is currently accepting applications for designer and assistant designer roles for our upcoming season. Design opportunities are available in Costumes, Scenic Design, Props, Projections, and Lighting.
Grandstreet Theatre is always seeking talented designers and technicians to work on our mainstage production season. We offer a wide range of productions including plays and musicals for community members of all ages. As a member of our production team, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a passionate and talented group of artists and performers. If you have a passion for design or technical theatre and a love of the performing arts, we encourage you to apply for these exciting opportunities.
Designers collaborate with the Director, Design Team, and Grandstreet staff to design and execute the world of the play. Designers will attend production meetings in the months leading up to the show, attend some rehearsals to observe the blocking and structure of the play, provide the Director and Grandstreet with designs for the production, manage the budget for their role, and attend rehearsals and work hours during tech weeks.
Designers receive a stipend for their work during the production. Assistant designers are volunteer roles that include training in the design area to prepare participants for future design opportunities.
If you are interested in being considered for a Designer or Design Assistant position, please complete this form. The form will ask you to upload your resume and portfolio, if available. If you do not have a resume in the design field, please provide a brief statement about your interest and history in the design field(s) you are interested in.
