Lyla Ackerman is a freshman at Helena High School. She is so excited to be in another summer Grandstreet show. She has been involved in summer shows as James in James and the Giant Peach and Michael in Mary Poppins. The magic of Grandstreet has been bringing her back since her first show. She wants to thank her family and the staff of Grandstreet for always supporting her.
Elsie Ambrose, originally from New Orleans, is a freshman at CHS and is thrilled to be part of her first summer show at Grandstreet. With an extensive ballet background from Queen City Ballet, she danced many roles, including Clara in the Nutcracker. Her passion lies in musical theatre and she loves being part of the Grandstreet family. Her Grandstreet shows include Matilda and Frozen Jr. Thanks Mom and Dad!
Ellie Barnes is super excited to be making her stage debut at Grandstreet Theatre! She has done one year of Grandstreet’s Theatre School and has had a blast. Ellie has taken creative movement, tap, jazz, gymnastics and is currently a green belt in karate from Helena Martial Arts Academy. She wants to be a police woman when she grows up. Ellie would like to thank her family for their love and support.
Phil is happy to be part of this summers GST shows. Having graduated from college (a long time ago) with a BFA in theatre, this reminds him why that was his degree of choice. Molly R. Brandt is a born and raised Helenan. Recently graduated from Capital High School, Molly plans to pursue a BFA in musical theatre from the University of Montana, as well as an English Literature degree to pursue teaching. Her most recent shows include Matilda, Frozen Jr., Sister Act, and Treasure Island. Molly would like to thank her family, friends, and theatre family for their neverending love and support.
Eisley Bushilla is beyond excited to be making her debut on the Grandstreet stage in the Sound of Music! She loves Grandstreet summer theatre camp, singing and dancing. She is a 4th grader at Smith
School where she has been in MCT productions for the past 3 years. Her recent roles were “mean kid” and snowflake in Nutcracker on the Rocks.
Tiffany Bushilla loves everything Grandstreet from acting on the stage, to volunteering and teaching for the 4th summer in Beanie camp.Tiffany has been in a variety of recent productions in Helenaincluding Nutcracker on the Rocks, Jesus Christ Superstar and The Full Monty. She is a Toddler Montessori teacher at Mountainside Montessori where she enjoys sharing her love of singing, dancing and creating.She is thrilled to share the stage with her daughter Eisley!
Angela is a Helena native and is excited to return back to the stage after a decade hiatus. She is an active member of the Helena Symphony Chorale and currently works with the Helena Public Schools as a Speech-Language Pathologist. Previous roles have included: chorus member in selected Opera scenes, chorus member in Handel’s Semele, chorus member in My Fair Lady, “Fruma Sarah” in Fiddler on the Roof, and various Grandstreet Theatre Christmas shows
Keelin Connolly is thrilled to be a part of another magical Grandstreet production! A senior at CHS, she is the secretary of Grandstreet’s Student Advisory Board, a theatre school student, and participates in theatre at Capital. Favorite credits include Weselton in Frozen Jr., Red Ruth/Mrs. Crossley in Treasure Island, and ensemble in Sister Act. “Thanks to my family (GST and biological), crazy friends, and Torrey for keeping me sane.”
Don Cox is excited for the opportunity to be a villain for a change. He previously appeared in Elf The Musical Jr. as Santa Claus and in Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory as Grandpa Joe. As always, Don would like to thank his wife (Vickie) and daughter (Hailey) for encouraging him to continue on stage.
Hailey is ecstatic to be performing as Louisa von Trapp! She discovered her love for theater in 2nd grade and has never looked back! She truly loves being on stage and all the wonderful people at Grandstreet. Favorite roles include Olaf understudy/ensemble (Frozen Jr.), Veruca Salt (Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory), Young Nala (Lion King Jr.), and Small Alice (Alice in Wonderland Jr.). As always, Hailey would like to thank her amazing dog, Dakota!
Haddie Dailey is an 8 year old student at Montana City School. She loves her acting class at Grandstreet. She was most recently seen as a member of the “Oaken Family” for Grandstreet’s Frozen,Jr. She was also “Tambourine the Dwarf” for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, a “skunk” for Robin Hood, and a “silkworm” for The Emperor’s New Clothes (Missoula Children’s Theater).
Riley Ford is very excited for her role in The Sound of Music. Her most recent role was the housekeeper in Frozen,Jr. Riley participated in her fourth year of the Junior Theater Festival as an ensemble member in The Little Mermaid Jr. and is a rising junior in Grandstreet’s Theatre School. She would like to thank Marianne for pushing her to her limits; and her family for always supporting her no matter what.
Lauren Hanson, a recent graduate of Capital High and Grandstreet Theatre school, is beyond excited to be spending another summer with her favorite people. Her recent credits include Anna (Frozen Jr.), Wendy Jo (Footloose), and Jojo (Newsies). Lauren would like to thank her family and friends, her amazing cast and crew, and Grandstreet for helping raise her into the person she is today
Elsie Harrington loves Grandstreet summers! A senior at HHS, her past summer productions include Sister Act and Newsies. Other favorite Grandstreet credits include Frozen Jr. (Elsa), Treasure Island (Israel Hands), and Matilda. At Grandstreet, she is co-president of the Student Advisory Board (with her twin Tara!), takes classes, and assistant-teaches a 5th-and-6th-grade class. She also works at Bloom Montessori School and is Board Chair of Montana Youth Action. “Thanks to Marianne Adams for everything, ever!”
Tara Harrington, a rising senior at HHS is beyond excited to be a part of another summer production! Previous credits at Grandstreet include Big Kid in Matilda, Snow Core in Frozen Jr, and Teen Ensemble in Footloose! When not onstage, Tara assistant teaches the K-2 theatre school classes and works as an aftercare aide at Bloom Montessori. Tara would like to thank the cast and crew of The Sound of Music and her wonderful Helena community.
Julia has been enjoying the role of ‘new mom’ and is thrilled to be back on the Grandstreet stage! She is an adjunct theatre instructor at Carroll College, and also a certified yoga instructor. Blessed by many opportunities in Helena theatre, favorites include Venus in Fur (Helena Theatre Co.), Juliet (MT Shakespeare Co.), The 39 Steps, and Peter and the Starcatcher (Grandstreet Theatre). Rebecca Hartman is delighted to be making her Grandstreet debut as Maria in The Sound Of Music. Recently, Rebecca was seen as Bebe in A Chorus Line at Stages Staint Louis, the Mary Poppins understudy at Variety Theatre, The Witch in Into The Woods, and Eponine in Les Miserables. She is currently pursuing a BFA in Musical Theatre from Webster University. She is immensely appreciative of Peter and Melissa Hartman, and her sister Elizabeth.
Cadence is super excited to be a part of The Sound of Music. Her favorite credits thus far have been Willy Wonka, Wildwood, and Frozen JR. Cadence is a rising sophomore at Capital High School. She enjoys running cross country and spending time with her dogs. She thanks those who continue to inspire her and those who support this incredible community theatre.
Sound of Music is Heather’s introduction to the stage. She is thrilled to be performing with such a talented group! When not on stage she is a 4th grade teacher with Helena Schools and a busy mom and wife. She would like to thank Grandstreet Theatre for this amazing opportunity. Ella House is incredibly excited to get to join Grandstreet for another summer of fun. Ella is a graduated senior, and plans on attending Webster University in the fall, studying art with a focus in illustration. Past show credits include a Snowflake in Frozen Jr, a Ensemble in Sister Act, as well as Jim Hawkins in Treasure island. “Much love to the people who push me to be better every day!”
Kate Loble is so excited to participating in another Grandstreet Theater summer stock show before she heads off to Long Island University to pursue a BFA Musical Theater degree in the fall. Every time Kate is onstage, playing Pumbaa in The Lion King Jr., or Joan the Goat in Treasure Island, she is always having fun. In her free time, Kate also enjoys anything outside, her sister, being sarcastic and trying to steal the Krabby Patty Secret Formula.
Annie Menden is thrilled to be in her first summer show at Grandstreet! Annie is a rising junior at Helena High School, and her recent credits include Flotsam in The Little Mermaid Jr., Ensemble/Sven Understudy in Frozen Jr., and Grandma Josephine in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. She would like to thank her family, friends, and the Grandstreet community.
Benjamin Misplon is so excited to return home again to his favorite place, the Grandstreet stage. Benjamin received his BFA in Musical Theatre from Western Illinois University and now lives in St, Louis Missouri. Benjamin’s favorite roles include; Joey in Sister Act, Prentiss in Peter and the Starcatcher, and Hanschen in Spring Awakening. Ben would like to thank his friends and family for their support!
Kai Moser is a rising freshman at HHS this fall and loves performing at Grandstreet. Previous roles include Curtis in Wildwood and Mike Teavee in Willy Wonka. On a recent trip to Austria with his family, he took a bike tour around Salzburg to visit locations from The Sound of Music film and saw a marionette production of the musical. He is thrilled to be part of this show and hopes you enjoy it.
Emmett Morrison is thrilled to be playing the role of Kurt. He is ten years old and has been doing Grandstreet shows for three years, including Elf, Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory, and Frozen Jr. Emmett loves to take Grandstreet classes, play soccer, ski, and sing high notes. He would like to thank his mom and dad for supporting him and loving him through this whole process
Hope Morrison often jokes that the only reason she wasn’t a Grandstreet kid is because she grew up 1500 miles too far east. Since moving to Helena in 2017, she has served Grandstreet as a costume designer/stitcher, carpool mom, and board member, but this show marks her first time on stage since 1995. Hope is especially excited to share this experience with her younger son Emmett and wants to thank her family for their love and support.
Gracie Fay Petersen is going into 6th grade at Helena Middle School and is a student at Grandstreet Theatre School. Previous roles on the Grandstreet stage include Sally Brown in A Charlie Brown Christmas, Mac and Enver in Wildwood, Matilda in Roald Dahl’s Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory and Mort in Madagascar-A Musical Adventure JR. “Thanks to my Mom, Dad, my dog Polly Pocket, and to Sarah Butts, Retta Leaphart, Gretchen Mundinger, and Marianne Adams.”
Natalie Renk is a Senior at Capital High this year and is so excited to be bringing you this wonderful show! She recently played Marian Paroo in The Music Man and can’t wait for the next challenge. Carlton Ryker is an actor based in Los Angeles, California. Born and raised in Kansas, he graduated with a BA in Musical Theatre from Wichita State University. Carlton is extremely excited to return to Grandstreet and Helena, MT for his third summer in a row. Past credits include roles such as; Mike in Freaky Friday, Curtis in Sister Act, Bud in Bridges of Madison County, Bill in Mamma Mia, and The Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors.(Psalm 3:30)
Roger returns to Grandstreet Theatre after being away for over twenty years. Since last appearing as Nathan Detroit in Guys and Dolls, Roger has worked as an artistic director, technical director, and stage manager for the Palace Theatre and Auditions Youth Performing Arts in NH, the Broadway Kids and “When Pigs Fly” in NYC. He has been teaching High School Theatre and English in NH and FL until joining the English Department at Helena HS this year. “It’s good to finally be back home!”
Reese Sheldahl is very excited to be working with Grandstreet Theatre again! Appearing on the GST stage in Treasure Island and Sister Act. Recently graduated from Capital High School, where he was apart of many productions such as The Music Man, Figaro, and Moon Over Buffalo, Reese is looking forward to able to share the stories of Freaky Friday and The Sound of Music. “Many thanks to my family and supportive teachers!”
Emma Templeton is thrilled to be spending this summer at Grandstreet! Recent credits include Footloose, Mamma Mia and Treasure Island (Squire). Emma is planning to study theatre as a rising college Freshman and is beyond excited to make a career out of something she so dearly loves! She would like to thank both her family and everyone at Grandstreet for always supporting her.
McLain is a soon-to-be college freshman, at Viterbo University in La Crosse, WI. She is planning on studying psychology with a minor in theatre arts. Her recent Grandstreet roles include Townsperson/Hidden Folk in Frozen Jr., Ensemble in Footloose, and Phineous Trout in Willy Wonka. McLain would like to give a big thank you to her family, friends and castmates for the constant support.

Local actor and traveler Ellie Youde attributes her talents to an early exposure to fine art. She would like to thank her Montanan family, Oregonian family, and International family for supporting her nose-dive into this field. Some of her previous work includes singing for a jazz band, assistant directing a theatre program, worship leadership, costume design and providing therapeutic art in the outpatient clinic of a children’s hospital.
Trace Turner is a NYC-based director making his first visit to Grandstreet this season. Previous directing and choreography credits include Next To Normal, Every Brilliant Thing, Photograph 51, Constellations. As a playwright Trace recently had his one man show, I Knew Him Well, produced in Austin, Texas that he also performed in as well as a staged reading of his play The Black Seagull about the Empress Sissi of Austria. www.traceturner.com
