With a degree in Journalism, he worked for the Great Falls Tribune, Montana Magazine before moving from the Board of directors of Broadwater Productions, the parent company of Grandstreet Theatre, in 1994 to his current position.

It’s a great gig with a great staff and even greater patrons

Adam Wagner

Artistic Director

Adam Wagner, born and raised in Chesterton, Indiana, has a BFA in Musical Theater from College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) at the University of Cincinnati. He moved to Helena in July from New York City, where he resided for 5 years. Unable to afford piano lessons growing up, he taught himself to play piano and has been songwriting since 2002. Fortunate enough to be privately mentored for three years by Tony-nominated composer/lyricist, Craig Carnelia (Working, Sweet Smell of Success), his songs can now be seen and heard on YouTube and by becoming a fan of “The Songs of Adam Wagner” on Facebook. In 2005, Adam produced his first musical at the Cincinnati Fringe Festival – Don’t Look Down, an original revue, played to sold-out audiences and won a Cincinnati Entertainment Award for Best Alternative Production and a Cincinnati Enquirer Acclaim Award. Adam’s songs have been performed in numerous concerts and cabarets across the country and by talented Broadway performers including Christian Borle (Legally Blonde), Jill Paice (Curtains), Alexander Gemignani (Les Miserables), Andréa Burns (Songs for a New World) and Betsy Wolfe (Everyday Rapture). As an actor, he can be seen in the film, TEETH, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and is well on its way to DVD cult status. Regionally, he has performed at the St. Louis Muny, Seacoast Repertory and Ogunquit Playhouse. Grandstreet credits include musical director for Grease! and director/choreographer for Singin’ in the Rain and audiences might remember him as Leaf Coneybear in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee.

Marianne Adams

Education Director

Marianne received her BFA in Theatre Arts from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Marianne has directed many mainstage productions for Grandstreet and teaches acting classes for the Theatre School. She has also worked as a mentor and artist-in-residence in the Helena Public Schools and surrounding areas. Marianne is a member of the Rocky Mountain Theatre Association’s Board of Directors.

Cody W. Doll

Technical Director

Cody W. Doll is from Healy, Kansas.  He attended McPherson College in McPherson, Kansas where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree  in Theatre as well as Philosophy & Religion.  He is in his second year as Grandstreet’s Technical Director, where he enjoys getting to call it his new home.

Katie Sorensen

Box Office Manager,  Administrative Assistant

Katie Is the OLD rusty anchor of Grandstreet, being the longest, consecutively employed person on staff. With much on-the-job training, she has costumed numerous shows, performed a few times, painted a few sets, and stretched her knowledge of computers to a near-breaking point.

She loves what she does, and she loves ‘her’ patrons and ‘her’ theatre.
