Mary Elizabeth Boespflug

Wanda Woodward

Mary-Elizabeth Boespflug (Wanda Woodward) is thrilled to be returning to Grandstreet for yet another summer! Mary is earning her Bachelors in Theater at the University of Montana. She would like to thank her mother for her unending support, love, wisdom, and snacks. “You did a grape job raisin me. I love you to the moon and back!”

Jimmy Capek


Jimmy Capek (Ensemble) is elated to be back at Grandstreet for his third summer in a row. Some favorite credits include; Rock Of Ages (Franz), 25th Annual…Spelling Bee (Leaf), Pippin, Bat Boy and many more. Jimmy is a proud graduate of Western Illinois University where he received his BFA in Musical Theatre. He sends love to his parents, two sisters, and friends. Follow his journey at

Caroline Carey

Pepper Walker

Caroline Carey (Pepper Walker) is pumped to be a part of Cry Baby. She has grown up on the Grandstreet stage and has most recently performed in The Wizard of Oz and Mary Poppins. Caroline will be a senior in the fall and is planning on auditioning for many of the next season shows. She would like to thank her family for their never-ending support.

Eliza Carey

Eliza Carey (Square ensemble) This is Eliza’s first year to participate in Grandstreet’s Summer Conservatory, although she has been on the Grandstreet stage for several years. Her most noted performances were as Little Cosette in Les Miserables, Flounder in The Little Mermaid Jr., and Thing 2 in Cat in the Hat.

Jessie Maye Christopher

Lenora Frigid

Jessie Maye Christopher (Lenora Frigid) hails from the lovely land of Raleigh, NC. Some of her favorite credits include Candace (Bully), Iola Stover (Parade), and Kathy (Singing in the Rain). She will be a junior musical theatre major at Ball State University in the fall. She would like to thank her rock star parents from her nose to her toes for their support and love. Another huge thank you to Marianne and everyone in the Grandstreet family! She hopes you enjoy the show!

Willa Fossum

Mona "Hatchet-Face" Malnorowski

Willa Fossum (Mona “Hatchet-Face Malnorowski) is a recent, proud graduate of Helena High School and Grandstreet Theatre School. She’s beyond excited to be headed off to Texas State University this fall to study Acting. Recent Grandstreet credits include Announcer in It’s a Wonderful Life: Radio Play, Diwata in Speech and Debate, and Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream. She’d like to thank Marianne Adams for everything she does, and all of her goofball friends for making her laugh.

Trev Gabel

Whiffle #1

Trev Gabel (Whiffle #1) is excited to be performing in Montana this summer! Trev is a Wisconsin native and earned his BFA in Music Theatre from Illinois Wesleyan University.  Regional credits include The Mac-Haydn Theatre: Producers (The Stormtrooper) and Sleepy Hollow (Washington). Timbers Theater: Everything is Rhythm (Billy). Collegiate Credits include Giant (Jordy), Where in the World is Frank Sparrow? (Mr. Kist), Runaways (Roby), and FAME (Bobby).

Nathan George

Nathan George (Drape ensemble) is excited to spend his last summer before college preforming at Grandstreet. He has been in a number of shows in the past including: It’s a Wonderful Life and Rock of Ages last summer. He would like to thank his parents for helping him through high school, and the staff of Grandstreet for always giving him a place to perform.

Lauren Hanson

Lauren Hanson (Square ensemble) a soon to be sophomore, couldn’t be happier to be spending another summer at Grandstreet. Her most recent credits include Zazu (The Lion King JR.), Ensemble (James and the Giant Peach), and Debbie (Billy Elliot).  Lauren would like to thank her family and friends, her amazing cast and crew, Marianne Adams, and Lysa Fox for being an inspiration on how to live life to it’s fullest.

Noah Jermain

Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker

Noah Jermain (Wade “Cry Baby” Walker) from Savannah, Missouri is currently pursuing his BFA in Musical Theatre at Missouri State University. While at MSU, he has played Fredrik in A Little Night Music, Emmett in Legally Blonde, and Claude in Hair. He has also performed with Tent Theatre as Dean in All Shook Up. Noah is incredibly thrilled to be making his debut at Grandstreet Theatre, and he would like to thank his family for their endless love and support!

Faith Johnson

Allison Vernon-Williams

Faith Johnson (Allison Vernon-Williams) has been in Grandstreet Theatre for 13 years. She has been in many shows over the years, her most memorable being My Fair Lady, Mary Poppins, Billy Elliot, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream as Helena. She is honored to be playing Allison Vernon-Williams and can’t wait to see where this summer takes her. “Thank you to my mom and dad who always push me to be my best and keep me in high spirits. I love you!”

Rick Johnson


Rick Johnson (ensemble) has been hanging around GST for the past 20 years were he has been involved in more than 50 productions. His on stage roles include his first role in 1997 as Norman in The Boys Next Door to his most recent role as a member of the wonderful ensemble in Billy Elliot. Rick has also spent the last 17 summers working as Marianne Adams assistant for GST’s Summer Program. Rick would like to thank Marianne, the Staff and all the Volunteers at GST who make Grandstreet a magical place!

Dawn Lee Kangas


Dawn Lee Kangas graduated from GSTS and is blessed to work as a teacher and director where she gained her passion for theatre. Dawn has a BFA in Acting from Cornish College of the Arts, Professional Acting Conservatory and a MIT from Seattle University.  She has taught at GSTS for the past 13 years. She recently directed GTK Once upon a Mattress and was Sponge in James and the Giant Peach.

Kate Loble

Kate Loble (Drape ensemble) is ecstatic to be performing in Crybaby! She loves theater and continues to challenge herself in this wonderful art. Her favorite role was Pumbaa in The Lion King Jr. and her most recent show was My Fair Lady this spring. She would like to thank her cast members for motivating her through each and every day and her sister Mia for always being by her side whether she likes it or not!

Adam David Marino

Dupree W. Dupree

Adam David Marino (Dupree W. Dupree) is thrilled to be making his Grandstreet Theatre debut as Terk in Tarzan! Adam is a native of Rochester, NY and former student at Nazareth College of Rochester. Some of Adam’s favorite credits include The Buddy Holly Story (Ritchie Valens), Grease (Doody) and Titanic (Mr. Andrews). Special thanks to M,D,A L2 and coffee for their constant love and support!

Jodi Mattson

Mrs. Cordelia Vernon-Williams

Jodi Mattson (Mrs. Cordelia Vernon-Williams) holds a Masters in Education and has taught music in the public schools, Carroll College and is currently a private voice teacher. She has been performing, musically directing, painting, sewing, and supporting Grandstreet productions since 1977.  Her first role was Fiona in Brigadoon since then the list is long of roles and musical direction. Most recently, Aggie Hurley in A Catered Affair , Velma Von Tussle in Hairspray, and Mrs.Watson in Big River.  Jodi is honored to have been a member of the Grandstreet gang for so many years/decades (yikes!!)  This is a magical place; creative, and safe…wonderful!

Jillian Newton


Jillian Newton (adult ensemble) is thrilled to music direct the talented cast of Tarzan! Originally from Michigan, she earned Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Western Michigan University. She has previously worked with Grandstreet Theatre as the Music Director for It’s a Wonderful Life and as a Maid/Ensemble member in My Fair Lady. Jillian is an active music teacher in town and maintains a full studio. Much love to Calder, friends, and family for their endless support!

Matthew Reindl

Whiffle #3

Matthew Reindl is ecstatic to be making his Grandstreet Theatre debut in Cry-Baby! Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, Matthew currently studies musical theatre at Oklahoma City University. He would like to dedicate this performance to his grandparents, and to thank everyone at Grandsteet for making this opportunity possible!

Hayden Schubert

Hayden Schubert (Drape ensemble) will be entering his Senior year of the BFA in Musical Theater at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. Educational Credits Include Prentiss in Peter and the Starcatcher, Frid in A Little Night Music, Centaur in The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, Abel in Children of Eden, and Valere in Tartuffe. He has also worked professionally at McLeod Summer Playhouse where he played Brad in Hairspray, Napthali In Joseph…Dreamcoat, and Simon/Lafe in Big River.

Jim Shea

Judge Stone

Jim Shea (Judge Stone) Jim’s acting chops and easy access to judicial attire landed him his first Grandstreet role as Justice Brandeis in Annie.  Since then, Jim has appeared in a number of shows, including UrinetownArsenic and Old LaceThe ForeignerOliver!, and The 39 Steps.  In between acting gigs, Jim pays the bills with his day job as a Montana Supreme Court Justice.  Jim would like to thank Kathy, Kate, and Mo for . . . well . . . everything.

David Wade

David Wade (Drape ensemble) has been performing for the last eleven years. He is wildly excited to be back for another summer of Grandstreet madness. David Wade is a recent graduate of the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts as a Theatre major. He loves Grandstreet Theatre and hopes to come back again.

Dalton Weaver

Whiffle #2

Dalton Weaver (whiffle #2) sixteen years old, is a Helena High Sophomore where he sings in the Starlighters Choir.  He is a frequent performer at Grandstreet Theatre.  His most recent performances include James and Giant Peach, It’s A Wonderful Life and The Giver.   Dalton was recently chosen as an All Star Actor at the Junior Theater Festival in Sacramento.  “Thank you Grandstreet Theatre for being my second home!”

Matthew Weidenbener


Matthew Weidenbener (Baldwin) is thrilled to be joining the GST family! He is a rising senior at Indiana University, pursuing his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre. Recent credits include The Drowsy Chaperone (Robert Martin), A Year With Frog & Toad, West Side Story (Co-Choreographer), Oliver! (Noah Claypole/A.Chor.), Mary Poppins (Robertson Ay), Shrek (Pinocchio). Matthew can be seen co-hosting WTIU’s “The Friday Zone” airing on PBS throughout the midwest. Matthew is from Bloomington, Indiana.

Presley Wilson

Presley Wilson (Drape ensemble) is 14 and has been performing at Grandstreet for 10 years. This will be her last local performance before moving to New York City.  Selected roles include Princess Winnifred, GTK Once upon a Mattress, Thing 1, The Cat in the Hat, Little Eponine, Les Miserables.  She would like to thank her theatre family for making her experience here amazing, always making her feel at home, and her family for their support and love.

Danielle Wineman

Danielle Wineman (square ensemble) is so happy to be back home at Grandstreet! She is a rising second year at UC San Diego earning her Masters of Fine Arts. Past credits: Taming of the Shrew(d) and (w)holeness (UCSD/La Jolla Playhouse); A Christmas Carol (Guthrie Theater); A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Montana Shakespeare in the Schools); Rock of Ages, All Shook Up & Into the Woods (Grandstreet Theatre). Emma Ackerman


Emma is currently a straight-A, eighth-grade student at Helena Middle School.  She has been dancing and singing her way through life for as long as she’s been alive!  Her most recent roles include Jane in Mary Poppins, Iris in Still Life with Iris, and Little Red in Into the Woods.  Emma has been studying dance, piano and voice since she was three.  She is grateful to the incredible directors who have inspired her and given her incredible guidance: Marianne Adams, Jeff Downing and Retta Leaphart.

Lyla Ackerman


Lyla is a 10-year old, straight-A 4th grader at St. Andrew School in Helena, MT.  Lyla has a contagious zest for life with a profound love of people!  She adores being on stage and has NEVER been cast as a girl!  Her most recent roles include Chip in Beauty and the Beast, Michael in Mary Poppins, and James in James and the Giant Peach.  Lyla receives training in ballet, voice, and piano. She is grateful to her talented teachers, encouraging directors, and loving family members!

Briar Bell


Briar Bell is a rising 9th grader at St. Andrew School. James and the Giant Peach is her 6th show at Grandstreet. Her last couple of shows were Billy Elliot as a Ballet Girl, and Alice in Wonderland Jr. as a main card. She would like to thank Lauren Hanson for helping and having fun with her during rehearsals, her family, and Miriam Dixon for being supportive and always putting a smile on her face.

Jacob Ben-shmuel


Jacob Ben-Shmuel is proud to be making his debut with Grandstreet Theatre this summer. He is currently studying to receive a BFA in Music Theatre from UC Irvine (Spring 2017). Favorite roles include Jamie (The Last Five Years), Sancho Panza (Man of La Mancha), Edgar (Bat Boy) and Usnavi (In the Heights). He would like to thank his family for their undying love and support, even when he acts like a bit of an idiot.

Maximilian DeLoach


Maximilian DeLoach (Earthworm) is very excited to be making his debut at Grandstreet Theatre! He is a student at the University of California Irvine where he studies drama, with a focus on musical theatre. He would like to thank his mother for her constant support, as well as his other friends, family, and teachers, from whom he has learned.

Andy Fuehrer


Andy Fuehrer has grown up with Grandstreet and is thrilled to be a part of James and the Giant Peach. He first appeared on the Grandstreet stage as a homeless man in Annie. His most recent roles include ASM/Sound Board Operator in A Christmas Carol and Joe Spoonapple in Dear Edwina, Jr. Andy enters Helena High School as a Freshman this fall. He thanks his family for their amazing support and creative inspiration!

Aase Hahn


Aase Hahn relishes the opportunity to return to the Grandstreet stage after appearing last winter as a Solicitor in A Christmas Carol. She also appeared as Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz, an Ensemble member in Mary Poppins, an Enchanted Napkin in Beauty and the Beast, the Little Girl in Ragtime, a fairy in Peter Pan, and a Workhouse Brat in Oliver! When not performing at Grandstreet, you can find Aase on the soccer field, skiing on the ski hill, or adventuring in the mountains with her family.

Lauren Hanson


Lauren, a soon-to-be freshman, is ecstatic to be participating in another show at Grandstreet. Her most recent roles include, Debbie (Billy Elliot), Fezziwhig Daughter (A Christmas Carol), and Snout/Moth (A Midsummer Night’s Dream). Lauren would like to thank the wonderful production staff, her fabulous cast mates, and her friends and family for being so supportive.

Dawn Lee Kangas


Dawn Lee Kangas graduated from GSTS and is blessed to work as a teacher and director where she gained her passion for theatre. Dawn has a BFA in Acting from Cornish College of the Arts, Professional Acting Conservatory and a MIT from Seattle University. She has taught for the past 12 years for both the school year and summer school at GSTS. She recently directed, Dear Edwina JR. and was Mrs. Brill in Mary Poppins.

Dustin LaFleur


Dustin Lafleur, from Lafayette, Louisiana, is currently earning his M.F.A. at Western Illinois University. His favorite things are free food, pizza (when it’s not raining) and snickers, especially on Tuesdays.

Kate Loble


Kate Loble is thrilled to be back on the Grandstreet stage for another performance! Her most recent plays through Grandstreet have been, A Christmas Carol and Oklahoma! She would like to thank her friends and family who help keep her going day after day.

Rachel Martorana


Rachel is 15 years old and currently attends Helena High School. She has been involved in Grandstreet for around 2 years now and participates in many school productions. Rachel is very involved in her school a capella group and is a board member in the HHS Thespian Troupe. Some of her most recent roles have included Emily Webb in HHS’s production of Our Town and Rose in Grandstreet Theatre’s Alice in Wonderland Jr.

Ben Misplon

Ben Misplon is a Sophomore at Western Illinois University, where he  studies Musical Theatre. Ben grew up in Helena and spent most of his time at Grandstreet. His most recent roles have included, Trinculo The Tempest, Ensemble Pippin, and The Scarecrow The Wizard of Oz. Ben would like to thank all of his friends and family for all there love and support.

Gabriel Murphy


Gabriel is beyond grateful to be spending another magical summer with the Grandstreet Theatre. A Kansas native, Gabriel trained with Webster Conservatory and the British American Drama Academy and currently lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Regionally Gabriel has worked with the Kentucky Repertory Theatre, Great River Shakespeare Festival, The Jungle Theatre, Park Square Theatre, Workhaus Collective, Theatre Pro Rata, Frank Theatre, and Walking Shadow Theatre Company. Brenna Noble


Brenna Noble, an Oklahoma native, is excited to be making her Grandstreet debut this summer. She most recently performed along side Beth Leavel in the  “Muny at the Sheldon” concert series. She is a senior Musical Theatre major at the Webster University Conservatory of Theatre Arts, where she recently performed in The Pajama Game and HONK. Favorite credits include: The Sound of Music (Liesl), Hairspray (Amber), and Little Women (Amy). Love to Mom, Dad, and Ethan.

Tad Rose

Tad is a Senior at Carroll College studying business marketing and theatre. you probably saw him ion the Grandstreet stage either in Midsummer Nights dream where he played Lysander, or in Billy Elliot. He would like to thank his family for always believing him and letting him follow his dream.

Savannah Smith


Savannah is ecstatic to be a part of Grandstreet Theatre’s 2016 summer season! Her most recent backstage credits include assisting in Dear Edwina Jr. and running the light board for Pippin. Recent onstage credits include Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Virginia in Oklahoma! Savannah would like thank her friends and family for their support, and Roald Dahl for writing wondrous and whimsical worlds into existence for everyone to explore.

McLain Thornquist


McLain would like to thank Sarah Butts for this opportunity and her parents for supporting her to become the talented young actress she is today. McLain is going to be a freshman at Capital High School. Her latest role at Grandstreet Theatre was the Ghost of Christmas Past in the Christmas Carol. She looks forward to future opportunities at Grandstreet.

Colleen "Binky" Watson


Colleen is a  graduate of UM Missoula where she received her BFA in Acting/Directing. She has been a teacher in Grandstreet’s afterschool program for more that 20 years. Most recently Binky directed ESCAPE FROM EDEN at the Last Chance New Play Festival in Helena. Most recent Grandstreet Shows include THE ADDAMS FAMILY (Alice), and CABARET (Frauline Schneider). Favorite roles include Velma Kelly (CHICAGO), and The Witch (INTO THE WOODS). Favorite Shows include COWBOY and HARVEST, both tours with Montana Repertory Theatre. Thanks Kevin(husband, hers)!

Dalton Weaver


Dalton Weaver (ensemble) is 15 years old, loves musical theatre and is very grateful to find himself back on the Grandstreet Theatre stage.  Shipwrecked was his Grandstreet debut and he was enthralled with the talent presented.  Dalton was fortunate enough to gain experience in eight theater productions when he lived in Whitefish, MT.  He wishes to thank all of the directors and staff for their encouragement and knowledge.
