Seeking the Following Roles

Crumpet the Elf – An out of work writer in need of holiday cash, who takes a job as an elf at Macy’s Department store.  He is equal parts jaded, charming, bitter, and hilarious.

About The Show

The naughty list has never been so much fun!  An out of work writer in need of holiday cash decides to trade his dignity for a pair of jingling shoes and takes a job as an elf at Macy’s Department Store.  Besieged by bratty kids with overzealous parents and donning a humiliating costume, he finds that his cynical self and his elfin alter ego are not exactly compatible.  His remedy is to tell all – giving us a backstage pass to the secret lives of Santa’s elves.  Based on the true chronicles of David Sedaris’ experience as Crumpet the Elf, this cult classic riffs on a few of Sedaris’ truly odd and hilarious encounters with his fellow man at the height of the holiday crunch.  Thought definitely not your traditional stocking stuffer, this unexpected Christmas present is a laughter spiked antidote to the holiday blues.  The Santaland Diaries will be directed by Dee Smith III.  For questions or more information about the script, please contact Jeff Downing, Artistic Director at 442-4270 or email [email protected]
